What is Web3?

20 March 2023·1 min read·Global Admin

Web3 (sometimes written as “web 3.0”) refers to the next generation of the World Wide Web that is currently under development. While the current version of the web (Web 2.0) is primarily focused on delivering content to users through web applications and social media platforms, Web3 aims to create a decentralized, peer-to-peer version of the internet that is built on blockchain technology.

Web3 envisions a world where users have greater control over their data and online identity, and where the internet is more transparent, secure, and censorship-resistant. Some of the key technologies that are being developed as part of the Web3 ecosystem include decentralized networks like IPFS (InterPlanetary File System), blockchain-based platforms like Ethereum, and decentralized applications (dApps) that run on these networks.

Overall, Web3 represents a major shift in the way we interact with the internet and with each other online, and has the potential to create new opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and social impact.
